The ISTEP+ is a test given by the state of Indiana that measures student achievement in English/language arts, math, science, and social studies. The ISTEP+ reports student achievement levels according to the Indiana Academic Standards that were adopted by the Indiana State Board of Education. The test uses a combination of applied skills assessments (short essay and fill in the blank) and multiple choice assessments. All Indiana students in grades 3-8 must take the ISTEP+ each year. All grades take the English/language arts and math portions, while grades 4 and 6 also take a science assessment and grades 5 and 7 take a social studies assessment. The ISTEP+ is given in the spring. Click the button below to be taken to the Department of Education's ISTEP+ information page.
