Estimating Your College Costs
We know that different schools cost different amounts of money to attend. We hope you will keep in mind as well that not everyone pays the same amount of money to attend the same school. Your academic and athletic achievements, your artistic talents, your family's financial situation, your community involvement, and other factors can all impact your actual cost (the "net" price) of attending college. In some cases, students receive more financial aid from "more expensive" schools. Sometimes so much so that it actually costs them less to attend the more expensive school than a school that advertises lower tuition costs and fees.
Here are some resources that you can use to estimate what it might cost you to attend the college of your choice.
Indiana College Costs Estimator - This site allows you to use your family's financial information to estimate how much you will be expected to contribute in order to finance your college education. You can also learn more about financial aid and see cost and admission information for colleges in the state of Indiana.
U.S. DOE Net Price Calculator Center - This site is run by the Department of Education and links students to individual colleges' net price calculators. A net price calculator allows prospective students to enter information about themselves to find out what students like them paid to attend the college in the previous year, after considering grants and scholarship aid. If for some reason the college in which you are interested does not link from the Net Price Calculator Center, do a web search for the name of the school followed by the words "net price calculator." Often it will be the first result (after any ad links).
